PlayStation 5
Problem
Console overheating and shutting down mid-game after about 20 minutes of play.
What we did
Disassembled the unit, replaced dried thermal paste on the APU, cleaned the heatsink fins, and replaced the clogged intake fan.
Outcome
Runs cool and quiet. Customer has logged 200+ hours since the repair with zero shutdowns.
MacBook Pro 14"
Problem
Liquid spill — keyboard unresponsive, trackpad clicking randomly, wouldn't boot.
What we did
Full board-level cleaning with isopropyl, replaced corroded keyboard ribbon connector, reflowed two lifted pads near the trackpad controller.
Outcome
Fully functional. Customer recovered all data and avoided a $1,200+ Apple depot repair.
Small Business Network
Problem
Local restaurant's POS system kept dropping off the network during peak hours, causing lost orders.
What we did
On-site visit revealed a failing consumer-grade router. Replaced with a managed switch and business router, segmented POS onto a dedicated VLAN.
Outcome
Zero network drops in 8 months. Owner estimates saving $400/month in lost orders.
Custom PC Build
Problem
New self-built PC wouldn't POST — no display, no beep codes, fans spinning but nothing else.
What we did
Diagnosed a bent CPU socket pin from installation. Straightened the pin under magnification, reseated the CPU, and verified all power connectors.
Outcome
System booted first try. Customer avoided scrapping a $400 CPU.
Small Business
Problem
Accounting firm discovered ransomware had encrypted a shared drive overnight. Backups were 3 weeks old.
What we did
Isolated infected machines, removed the ransomware, recovered files from shadow copies, and deployed endpoint protection with daily encrypted backups.
Outcome
Recovered 94% of files. Implemented monitoring that has blocked 3 intrusion attempts since.
Ultrasound System
Problem
Portable ultrasound unit displaying image artifacts and intermittent probe connection errors.
What we did
Replaced the probe connector assembly, recalibrated the transducer interface board, and ran full image quality verification.
Outcome
Unit returned to clinical use within 48 hours, avoiding a $6,000+ OEM service call.
